Our Story
After many years working in several school districts, I came to the realization that starting a small, private practice was a dream I desired to make come true! My love for children of all ages, and the joy of being able to support a child's journey toward self-confidence and communicative success, have motivated me to create an experience where therapy is fun, creative, interactive and motivating. Bumblebee Speech Therapy was launched in 2020 with this vision in mind!
More About Me
I am a fully licensed and certified Speech Language Pathologist with over 20 years of experience. I hold my Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association, in addition to being licensed by the state of California. I received both my BA and MA in Communication Disorders from the University of Redlands and California State University at Long Beach, respectively.
My experience over the years has spanned multiple school districts and charter schools, serving children from pre-school to middle school ages. My passion is to help children grow in their ability to engage with the world around them through improved communication skills and self-confidence. I believe that life is about relationships, and relationships are developed through connections….and communicating is how we connect! I therefore believe that how well we communicate with others is a powerful and vital gift!
As a southern California native, I have been married for 30 years and have three adult-age sons, one of whom was speech delayed as a child (a “late talker”) and attended speech therapy. We homeschooled for 5 years, so I understand and support families who choose this as an educational option. On a personal note, my Christian faith is central to my life and guides all that I do. In my spare time, I enjoy family time, traveling, hiking, nature, reading great books, and dabbling in art/crafts/painting.

My Philosophy
My philosophy when it comes to speech therapy is simple. If your child is having fun, then true engagement is taking place, which in turn facilitates the learning process. Whether it is art, space, super heroes, or horses, I try to incorporate what intrigues, engages and motivates. I combine this with the latest in evidence-based therapy practices to provide the best therapy experience possible.
